Aims

It’s easy! is an interactive play device, useful as an alternative tool to help dyslexic children of primary school to do one’s homework. It allows the child to immerse yourself in a fun environment in which, through a series of activities planned by his teachers, he can advantage of a individualized, personalized and flexible teaching.

It’s easy!

Function

It’s easy! replaces the traditional homework assigned by teachers and uses a variety of fun and multifunctional interactive learning activities, specifically tailored to the characteristics and peculiarities of the child. The device allows to stimulate he through audio, sound and images and to verify the learning.

Mood 

The device allows to learn in a fun and playful way and to eliminates the problems that cause discomfort, frustration and anxiety. In this way the child is encouraged to do his homework and he feels more peaceful and secure.

Other stakeholders?

Other stakeholders are parents, pediatricians and pedagogy researchers.

Contexts of use

The context of use is the home, but can also be used outdoors.

Implementation

Dyslexia can manifest itself in different ways so the central design challenge is to determine generic activities that simplify the teaching plans and that are easily customized by the teacher.
The technical challenge is to know how to make the exchange of information between teachers and the device.

Areas of ignorance

I don’t know the methods used by teachers to create customized educational and I do not know what specific technologies can be used to help in the best way dyslexic children.

Criteria for success

The criterion for the success of my project depends on the design of a device that can adapt to different problems of dyslexic children, helping them learn while having fun.

General design issue

A tangible interface to simplify homework of dyslexic children through the stimulation of the senses.
